Paradise awaits!

In today’s modern world, we often find ourselves caught up in the busyness of daily life and in a chronic reaction-response to whatever comes our way. Are you ready to take a break from that familiar place? Are you ready for more inner peace and a positive mindset? How about immersing yourself in Pilates, yoga and dance on a remote tropical island, taking breaks to swim in the bay, paddle to the mangroves or spending an afternoon reading by the pool? If this sounds like a great way to spend five luxurious days, gather your favorite people (or take a break from them) and join us on our Peace & Positivity through Mindful Movement Practices Retreat at the serene Selva Terra Eco Resort in beautiful Boca Brava, Panama!

On our retreat, you will:

  • Learn mind-body connection practices that calm the nervous system and help “rewire” the brain for positivity
  • Experience at least eight Mindful Movement sessions – ranging from dance, Pilates, yoga and movement/health/mindset education. All sessions are optional and appropriate for all levels of movers.
  • Indulge in a farm-to-table breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared to your preferences and dietary needs each day
  • Relax by the infinity pool, beach bar, or one of the two beaches within steps of the resort

About me, your retreat leader:

  • As an Environmental Studies undergraduate student at UC Santa Barbara, I spent six months researching biodiversity and living in Costa Rica. Selva Terra Eco Resort protects the environment using the same values with which Costa Rica built its ecotourism industry. We proudly partner with businesses who are dedicated to protecting the environment and offer opportunities for us to connect with nature.
  • As a former firefighter/paramedic, you are in good hands in the event of an emergency (although, we’ll also do our part to prevent them.) I continue to maintain a current CPR and First Aid certification. Our safety is of utmost importance.
  • As someone who has experienced injury and chronic pain, the healing benefits of inner peace and positive mindset have been integral to my own healing journey. We can work together to honor each person’s unique body and needs.
  • As a former middle school Spanish teacher who has traveled throughout Latin America (Cuba, Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Panama), I can often help with translation and have studied many of the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. We value cultural diversity and honor both the people and the lands that we have the privilege to visit during our retreat.
  • As an Integrative Movement Coach, I have formal education in Pilates, yoga and mobility training, almost 20 years of experience teaching and practicing a variety of movement modalities, a passion for dance and a true desire to help others find joy and healing through movement. We encourage an open-mind, curiosity, a thirst for life-long learning and exploration of movement.

I have been dreaming of offering a retreat like this since I started Mindful Movement in 2018. This retreat is a culmination of my varied life experiences, greatest passions and my personal-professional mission – to help people find their best selves through exploration, connection, mindset, movement and adventure! I can’t wait to share it with you!
