MINDFUL MOVEMENT WITH NAYA
An Interview withKyle Mastropole
We interview Kyle Mastropole, highly-trained San Francisco Bay Area personal trainer and owner of The Bay Fitness, about his experience working with over 50 sports teams and a wide range of clients from ages 4 to 89. Kyle offers examples of how building and maintaining balanced muscle development can help anyone move better, whether it’s a collegiate basketball player trying to improve their jump shot or a senior who wants to make it up the stairs from their garden. Balanced muscle development is one of our Pilates principles and an important part of any strength and conditioning program. Learn why in this episode.
Pilates really helps build core strength that I don’t get from my sports. It’s also helped me build muscles that I didn’t know I had or that I was supposed to have! The balance and variety with Pilates is now an important part of my exercise routine.
Since practicing with Naya, I’ve noticed that my hips move much more easily and my body moves more fluidly. My body feels more aligned and I just feel better! I love that the cueing is so precise that I can just close my eyes and follow along. My only regret is that I didn’t start sooner!
Highly recommended! Naya is masterful at sequencing her classes, gives clear instruction, and always has a modification ready if needed. Naya’s impressive knowledge of anatomy allows her to personalize the workout so that all participants can get the most out of her class.
